Common Core Curriculum

Common core math curriculum was designed to support SAT and ACT testing. When it is taught from elementary school, it helps your child to develop logical thinking skills which are crucial for success in math. Elementary and middle school students follow the common core curriculum to have a strong foundantion.

High School Math

Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, SAT, and ACT preparation for math are offered. The main goal is to ensure students are able to stay a step ahead of the school curriculum and have a clear understanding of the concepts even before they are taught in the classroom. The program is closely alligned to the school courses to effectively provide support to high schoolers.

Word Problems

Understanding of math concepts goes hand in hand with learning to apply those concepts in word problems. Students learn to read the problem and write mathematical expressions or equations in steps while solving the problem. This skill is critical for excelling in high school where each step counts in every test. Without these steps clearly shown, even a correct answer will not be given full credit. When students practice problem solving the right way, they are able to analyze challenging problems accurately, which in turn builds their confidence.

Homework

Every week students will be assigned homework that allows them to practice skills covered in the class. Part of the packet will be covered in class while the rest is assigned as homework. Students can revisit the class problems to be clear on how to appraoch the homework problems. Practice is the key to success and this is especially true for math.
